WARSAW, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Odile Renaud-Basso, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will visit Poland later this week, focusing on renewable energy, and capital markets, according to the EBRD's website.
Ahead of her fourth visit to Poland, Renaud-Basso said the country is one of the EBRD's top investment destinations and a key market. "We have already invested over 1 billion euros (1.07 billion U.S. dollars) in Poland this year, and we are prepared to invest further."
She is scheduled to meet with senior government officials, clients, business partners, and civil society representatives in Poland. Discussions will focus on shared priorities, including renewable energy development, strengthening capital markets, and enhancing the competitiveness and innovation of Polish companies.
The EBRD has been among the leading institutional investors in Poland since it began operations there in 1991. Over the years, it has invested more than 14.9 billion euros in 544 projects, with a record investment of 1.3 billion euros made in Poland last year. (1 euro = 1.07 U.S. dollar) Enditem
