ADEN, Yemen, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers from the Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces operating in Yemen were killed on Friday in a shooting incident at a military base in the country's eastern province of Hadramout, a military official told Xinhua.
The military source, who required to remain anonymous, said that the shooting took place at the headquarters of the 1st Regional Military Command headquarters in Seiyun, the second largest city in Hadramout.
The source added that "a Yemeni soldier from the pro-government forces opened fire on the Saudi Arabia-led coalition soldiers, resulting in the killing of two soldiers and the injury of a third."
The identities and nationalities of the killed Arab coalition soldiers have not been disclosed, and the military authorities are still investigating the motives behind the incident, according to the official.
An eyewitness told Xinhua that a large number of military and security personnel have been deployed around the military base and throughout the city's main streets in the aftermath of the incident.
Neither the Yemeni government nor the Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces have issued a statement regarding the shooting incident so far.
Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab coalition that has been carrying out a military operation against the Houthi group in Yemen since March 2015, in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government. Enditem
