BEIRUT, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least six people, including a leader of the Islamic Group, were killed and another injured on Saturday in Israeli raids in eastern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military sources.

The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua that an Israeli warplane targeted at dawn with two air-to-ground missiles a house in the village of Majdal Balhis, killing Nabih al-Ghadban, his daughter, and two of his visitors.

The sources said the four bodies have been transferred to a hospital in the Bekaa region, and the Lebanese Red Cross and the Civil Defense teams are still working to remove the rubble of the destroyed house in search of missing persons.

The Islamic Group did not issue any comment on the incident.

The Islamic Group is an Islamic political organization with a military wing called "Fajr Forces," which has recently carried out military operations against the Israeli army.

Meanwhile, the military sources added that two Hezbollah members were killed this morning, and another was wounded as a result of an Israeli raid targeting a house in the village of Libbaya, east of Lebanon.

Also on Saturday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said the death toll of the Israeli airstrike in the southwestern city of Tyre a day earlier had risen to seven and injuries to 46.

Rescue teams are still searching for missing people under the rubble, the ministry added.

On Friday, two Israeli warplanes fired eight air-to-ground missiles at two buildings in the center of Tyre, causing a massive fire, destroying the buildings, and causing great damage to the neighborhood.

Since Sept. 23, the Israeli army has been launching an intensive air attack on Lebanon in a dangerous escalation with Hezbollah. In early October, Israel initiated a ground operation across its northern border into Lebanon. Enditem
