TEHRAN, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Three terrorists were killed and nine others arrested during an anti-terror operation by the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Sunday in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.
Sardar Ahmed Shafaei, the spokesperson for the operation, said that the IRGC Quds Force has been conducting a counter-terrorism campaign in the province since October 26.
During Sunday's operation, three terrorists were killed, nine were apprehended, and two others surrendered, Shafaei said, adding that since the campaign began, a total of 15 terrorists have been killed, 33 arrested, and two have surrendered.
He emphasized that the Iranian force is committed to continuing the counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
Sistan-Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, has long been a hotspot for armed groups and drug traffickers. On October 26, a group of militants attacked a border patrol in the province, resulting in the deaths of 10 Iranian soldiers and police officers. Enditem
