HANOI -- Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday adopted a resolution on the 2025 state budget estimate which sets budget overspending at 471.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (18.5 billion U.S. dollars), equivalent to 3.8 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

NA deputies suggested that the pace of public investment disbursement must be accelerated, especially for key national projects as well as important local projects, Vietnam News Agency reported. (Vietnam-Budget)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia plans to build a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant with a production capacity of 1.5 to 2 million tons per year to strengthen domestic supply and reduce dependence on imports, according to Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia on Wednesday.

"The government encourages Pertamina (the state-owned energy company) and private sector players to compete in developing this LPG plant to bolster domestic supply," said Lahadalia during a hearing with the House of Representatives in Jakarta. (Indonesia-Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant)

DHAKA -- Bangladeshi interim government's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday called for creating a South Asia grid to share the hydroelectricity generated by Nepal and Bhutan.

In a meeting with the social business group on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, the chief adviser said much of the hydroelectricity potentials of the Himalayan nations remain untapped due to a lack of electricity grids connecting Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Bhutan. NEW DELHI -- Air pollution in the Indian capital territory Delhi turned severe Wednesday for the first time this season with the Air Quality Index (AQI) soaring to 439.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall AQI of Delhi was recorded at 439 on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. local time. The increase in pollution levels has been attributed to the drop in temperature and wind speeds. (India-Delhi-Air Pollution) Enditem
