TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killed four individuals labeled as "terrorists" with alleged ties to Israel and detained seven others in recent operations in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province, state news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.

The IRGC's Quds Base units, in coordination with provincial police and intelligence services, are leading the counterterrorism operations, IRNA reported. The IRGC added that five other "terrorists" had surrendered to security forces during the operations.

Since the counterterrorism campaign began in the province in late October, a total of 48 suspects have been reported killed or detained, with two others surrendering voluntarily, according to IRNA.

The Sistan-Baluchestan province, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, has been a hotspot for armed groups and drug trafficking networks. On Oct. 26, militants reportedly attacked a border patrol in the region, killing 10 Iranian security personnel. Jaish al-Zulm, designated as a terrorist entity by Iran, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Enditem
