CAIRO -- At least 12 people were killed and five others wounded in a traffic accident on Wednesday in Port Said Province northeast of the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The accident took place when a heavy truck, a bus, and three other cars collided on a highway in Port Said, according to Egypt's state-run Akhbar El-Yom news website. (Egypt-Traffic-Accident)

JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Wednesday that six soldiers were killed in a clash with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the IDF said the soldiers "fell during combat" and identified five of them as members of the Golani Brigade's Infantry Battalion 51. The identity of the sixth soldier was withheld pending family notification. (Israel-Lebanon-Conflict)

NEW YORK -- An explosion at a chemical manufacturing plant in Louisville, U.S. state of Kentucky, on Tuesday afternoon killed two employees with more than ten others injured, according to media reports.
The explosion led to partial collapse of the Givaudan Sense Colour plant building and at least 12 employees were rushed to local hospitals. Four of them remain in hospital as of Wednesday, officials said. (US-Kentucky-Explosion)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killed four individuals labeled as "terrorists" with alleged ties to Israel and detained seven others in recent operations in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province, state news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.
The IRGC's Quds Base units, in coordination with provincial police and intelligence services, are leading the counterterrorism operations, IRNA reported. The IRGC added that five other "terrorists" had surrendered to security forces during the operations. (Iran-Counter-terrorism-Operations) Enditem
