BUDAPEST, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association and the China Cultural Center in Budapest inaugurated a photography exhibition, Links (Lancszemek), on Friday to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China.

The exhibition showcases 40 photographs selected from the China-Hungary "Links" Photography Competition, highlighting the shared cultural and natural heritage of the two nations while emphasizing their growing cultural ties.

"Photography transcends language and borders, bringing people closer and highlighting our shared values," said Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Hungary, at the event. "These images will serve as enduring witnesses to the valuable friendship between our countries."

Judit Eva Nagy, President of the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association, noted that the competition attracted over 1,000 entries from both countries.

Zsolt Hamarits, President of the Association of Hungarian Photographers and chair of the competition jury, described the selection process as challenging. "Choosing only 40 pieces from more than 1,000 entries was no easy task," he told Xinhua, adding that the quality of the entries was exceptional, offering unique perspectives on how the two cultures view each other.

The exhibition will run through Jan. 15, 2025. Enditem
