QUITO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Forward Leonardo Campana and full-back Angelo Preciado will miss Ecuador's FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Colombia due to injury, the Ecuadorian football federation said on Friday.

Sparta Prague's Preciado has a knee injury which requires surgery while Inter Miami's Campana is nursing an unspecified muscle injury, the federation said.

The entity did not immediately name replacements for the pair ahead of next Tuesday's clash in Barranquilla.

Ecuador is currently fifth in the South American qualifying zone with 16 points from 11 games, three points behind third-placed Colombia.

The top six teams in the group will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The seventh-ranked side will advance to an inter-continental playoff. Enditem
