OTTAWA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- A cargojet went off the runway at Canada's Vancouver International Airport Tuesday morning.

According to a news release issued by the airport, at approximately 1:45 a.m. (0945 GMT), upon landing, the cargojet flight operating a Prime Air aircraft overran the eastern boundary of North Runway.

Fire and rescue attended the scene, and there were no injuries reported and the crew of three were safely deplaned, the airport said.

"The North Runway is currently closed and we anticipate it will likely remain closed for a period of approximately 48 hours. This closure will have an impact on the operations and flight schedules," the airport said, adding that aircraft continue to arrive and depart on the South Runway.

The airport told passengers to check with their airlines for current flight schedules and status.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada, which looks into aviation incidents and makes recommendations, deployed a team of investigators to the scene, local media reported. Enditem
