TUNIS, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti on Tuesday emphasized the importance of further consolidating the multidimensional partnership between Tunisia and the European Union (EU).

The foreign minister made the remarks in a meeting with the ambassadors of EU member states in capital Tunis, said a statement released by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

According to the statement, the Tunisian minister and the ambassadors looked ahead to the celebration in 2025 for the 30th anniversary of the Association Agreement between Tunisia and the EU, and discussed the strategic partnership between the two sides.

During the meeting, Nafti stressed the need to tackle the issue of migration through a human-centered and comprehensive approach, which would involve strengthening programs for the voluntary return of irregular migrants in Tunisia to their countries of origin.

He also advocated for facilitating mobility between the two shores of the Mediterranean, which would create opportunities to enhance the Tunisia-EU partnership in various fields.

The Tunisian minister reaffirmed Tunisia's support for the Palestinian cause and called for effective international action to implement an immediate ceasefire amidst the ongoing attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese people. Enditem
