SYDNEY -- An Australian police officer has been hospitalized after being stabbed while making an arrest in western Sydney early Friday.

The stabbing occurred after police responded to reports of five men fighting in the suburb of Doonside, approximately 35 km west of central Sydney, at 12:30 a.m. local time. (Australia-Stabbing)

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan -- At least 11 worshippers were killed by unidentified gunmen in northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province late Thursday, local media reported on Friday.

SEOUL -- Seven people were injured after a fishing boat crashed into rocks in waters off southwest South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported Friday citing the country's coast guard.
