ISTANBUL, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Istanbul Energy Forum convened here on Friday at the Istanbul Congress Centre, bringing together global energy leaders to discuss energy goals and solutions to shared challenges.
Under the theme of "Common Future, Common Goals," the one-day event, organized by Anadolu Agency under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, has attracted government officials from Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Uzbekistan, among other countries, along with representatives from civil society organizations, international institutions, and academia.
"As economies grow, populations expand, and industrialization progresses, our energy needs inevitably rise," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his address to the event.
"There is no alternative but to mobilize all resources at our disposal," Erdogan said, noting that recent global crises have underscored energy's critical role in ensuring economic stability.
He said Türkiye is committed to maximizing its potential across all sectors, from mining and oil to wind and solar energy.
During the forum, Türkiye's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar moderated a session on upcoming energy policies. Other sessions covered topics such as gas security, smart energy transition, and renewable energy finance. Enditem
