PORT SUDAN -- The UN World Food Programme (WFP) on Friday announced the arrival of the first aid convoy since August to Zamzam refugee camp in North Darfur State in western Sudan.
"Today (Friday), the first food aid convoy arrived in North Darfur's Zamzam camp, while further convoys remain on route to other hard-to-reach areas," the WFP said in a statement. (Sudan-Aid Convoy-Arrival)

BEIRUT -- Three paramedics were killed and three others injured on Friday in an Israeli airstrike targeting their vehicle at the Deir Qanoun Ras El Ain junction in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Friday announced the cessation of the issuance of administrative detention warrants against Jewish settlers in the West Bank.
"In a reality where the Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) are subject to serious Palestinian terror threats and unjustified international sanctions, it is inappropriate for Israel to take such a severe step against them," the minister said in a statement. TEHRAN -- Iran on Friday announced the activation of a "substantial" number of new "advanced" centrifuges in response to an "unjustifiable" resolution passed by the Board of Governors of the United Nations nuclear watchdog.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced the decision in a joint statement, while condemning the resolution passed by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday, which orders the country to urgently improve cooperation with the agency and requests a "comprehensive" report aimed at pressuring Iran into fresh nuclear talks.
