FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Thunder and lightning have claimed the lives of two people in the Arghanchkhah district of northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province on Sunday night, district governor Qari Habib Rahman Fateh said Monday.

The natural disaster, according to the official, hit a house in Duabi Shiwa village, killing a man and a woman of the family on the spot.

Since the area had been covered by heavy snow, it was difficult to assess the property damages inflicted on the village due to the natural event, the official said. Enditem
