DHAKA, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi interim government has requested Malaysia to take necessary measures as early as possible to supply refined palm oil to Bangladesh ahead of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan.
Sk Bashir Uddin, adviser to the Bangladeshi Ministry of Commerce, made the request when he met Malaysian Plantation and Commodities Minister Johari Abdul Ghani Tuesday, the second day of his two-day visit, the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) reported here Wednesday.
In response, the Malaysian minister promised to take immediate effective measures after discussing this with local businessmen, said a press release Wednesday.
