NEW DELHI -- Five doctors died and one was seriously injured in a road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh early Wednesday, confirmed a local police officer.

The victims were returning from a colleague's wedding in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Aged between 30 and 45 years, all of them were employed at a government hospital in Saifai area, located along the Agra-Lucknow expressway. (India-Road Accident)

COLOMBO -- Four people were killed, nine were injured, and six were missing due to floods in Sri Lanka, said the Disaster Management Center (DMC) on Wednesday.

SEOUL -- Eleven people were injured on Wednesday from a pileup involving 53 vehicles in eastern South Korea, according to Yonhap news agency.

GAZA -- At least 17 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on a school sheltering displaced people, and a residential house in Gaza City, the Palestinian civil defense said Wednesday.
