YANGON, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's 2024 mid-year gems emporium concluded on Wednesday in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, state-run Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Thursday.

During the 10-day event from Nov. 18 to Nov. 27, a total of 208 pearl lots, 62 gem lots and 3,966 jade lots were sold through an open tender system, the report said.

The event aims to generate foreign income, obtain business growth for citizens, and provide raw materials to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in the jade processing and finishing industry in Sagaing and Mandalay regions, the report said.

The emporium, sponsored by Myanmar's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, has been held since 1964. Enditem
