Brunei's total trade decreases 13.6 percent in September

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's total trade saw a decrease of 13.6 percent year-on-year in September, with total trade value for the month reaching 1,989.2 million Brunei dollars (1,480 million U.S. dollars), local media reported on Thursday.

The main export markets were China and Australia, accounting for 22.7 percent each, followed by Thailand at 10.9 percent. The largest export commodities to these countries were mineral fuels and chemicals, according to the local daily Borneo Bulletin.

Meanwhile, the largest import partners of Brunei for the month were the United Arab Emirates, accounting for 30.4 percent, followed by Malaysia at 25.2 percent and China at 9.2 percent. Enditem
