TASHKENT, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan's food exports have exceeded 2 billion U.S. dollars this year, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said in a statement on Thursday.
"This year, food exports increased by 370 million dollars compared to last year, surpassing 2 billion dollars. Uzbekistan ranks third in the world for apricot exports, seventh for cherry and peach exports, and 10th for legume crops. Cherries alone are exported to 16 countries," said the statement.
Shock freezing technology will be introduced to Uzbekistan to ensure year-round exports with 10 agro-logistics centers, over 1,000 cold storage facilities, and more than 40,000 hectares of industrial-intensive orchards and vineyards expected to be established, according to the statement. Enditem
