GENEVA -- Senior Iranian diplomats met with officials from Britain, France, and Germany on Friday behind closed doors in Geneva to discuss Iran's nuclear program, according to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.
As Iran's negotiator, Gharibabadi described the discussions with representatives from France, Germany, and Britain as "candid." In his post on the social platform X, he said the meeting talked about and evaluated the recent bilateral, regional and international developments, particularly the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions. KHARTOUM -- At least 12 people were killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on villages in Sudan's Gezira State, a volunteer group reported on Friday.
The Nidaa Al-Wasat Platform, a local volunteer group, said the RSF targeted eight villages in the Al-Meheiriba area of western Gezira on Thursday, launching intensive shelling and direct attacks on residents. (Sudan-Civil war-Casualties)

GAZA -- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Friday that Gaza endured the most intense civilian bombardment in the past year since World War II.
It added that the plight of Palestinian refugees remains the "longest unresolved refugee crisis" in the world, noting that UNRWA was established to provide assistance and protection to Palestinian refugees until a just and lasting solution is found.
