JERUSALEM, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that it had conducted an airstrike on military infrastructure in Syria near the border crossing with Lebanon.
It said that Hezbollah used the infrastructure to smuggle weapons from Syria into Lebanon, which poses a threat to Israel and violates the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement implemented early Wednesday.
"Hezbollah, backed by the Syrian regime, uses civilian infrastructure sites to conduct terrorist activities and smuggle weapons used against Israel's residents," the statement reads.
Earlier on Saturday, the IDF said it had intercepted a drone and another suspected aerial target launched from the east.
Separately, the IDF said on Saturday its soldiers had located and confiscated weapons, including rifles, hand grenades, and handheld anti-tank rocket launchers, that were concealed in a mosque in southern Lebanon. Enditem
