DHAKA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi interim government here Monday has directed all relevant authorities to take immediate action to address nearly half a million vacant positions in the government.
The government has also directed all ministries, divisions, subordinate offices, agencies, and field offices to submit progress reports to it within 15 working days.
The country's Ministry of Public Administration in a letter issued Monday highlighted the urgency of filling approximately 473,001 authorized vacancies in the government, representing nearly one-fourth of the 2 million revenue sector positions.
The letter, dispatched to secretaries of ministries, heads of autonomous bodies, and senior field officials, called for a coordinated effort to promptly fill the vacancies as per the authorized quotas. Enditem
