BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) in Brunei distributed coupons for school supplies, benefiting 2,718 orphans nationwide, local media reported on Monday.
According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, a ceremony was held in Brunei on Monday, and coupons worth 190,260 Brunei dollars (141,550 U.S. dollars) were handed over to representatives from different districts.
The coupons, valued at 70 Brunei dollars (52 dollars) each, are intended to help orphans purchase essential school supplies for the upcoming 2025 academic year, which begins in about a month, the Borneo Bulletin reported.
