BERLIN, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The unexpected honor seems to have surprised Egyptian Omar Marmoush. The 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt striker developed visible joy listening to the latest creation of the German radio format "Wumms," the "Marmoush song."

"He hammers in every free kick - well, that can only be Omar," the lyrics say praising the Egyptian internationals' latest on-pitch achievements.

While the new musical contribution seems to meet fans' tastes climbing up the charts, the striker has been on everyone's lips for a while.

Ahead of the last-16-round duel in the German Cup in Leipzig this Wednesday evening, some say, Marmoush is the bearing pillar for Eintracht's current success.

13 goals aside from 7 assists in the national league made Frankfurt slip into the role of the "Bayern hunter" with only four points behind the table leaders: Not to speak of the forward's constant shares in the UEFA Euro League (3 goals in five games) and the German Cup (3 scorer points).

While supporters talk about bold this season title dreams, the club management is said to be busy sorting out offers from top European sides said to be interested in signing the rising star.

Next to Bayern, Premier League side Liverpool for a reason is said to eye the Egyptian as a possible replacement for its star-striker and fellow countryman Mo Salah.

While Salah's LFC future remains uncertain, Marmoush might be the pick in case the world-class attacker is departing despite negotiations continuing.

Comparisons seem to come naturally due to the shared nationality but don't benefit the Frankfurt strikers' progress as Salah put it in a recent interview.

The 32-year-old recommended to skip comparisons "as he needs to find his way." The LFC striker said the excitement around the Eintracht spearhead is understandable "as there are not many players from Egypt and Arabic countries who went to Europe and fought for success - Marmoush is one of them."

The LFC star sees the Cairo-born attacker and 31 times capped at the starting point of a promising career in the shirt of the 2022 Euro League winner.

As a fact, the former Cairo-based Wadi Degla SC striker went through rough times as a talent in Wolfsburg and failed to achieve his breakthrough at St. Pauli and the VfB Stuttgart before blooming in Frankfurt.

Salah spoke of great potential "as he is important for his clubs and the national team." The praised striker's next career steps might have to be carefully thought through despite the current high fly.

While Marmoush is enjoying the collaboration with French teammate Hugo Ekitike in Eintracht's shirt, a move to Bayern or the LFC might be a huge step in taking him out of his comfort zone.

Despite remaining doubts, Marmoush's rocket-like development might open doors for new shores as long as a reported 50 to 60 million euros come along with offers. The 25-year-old seems prepared not only because the song about him already seems to have gone through the sealing. Enditem
