ALGIERS, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Algerian Foreign Ministry expressed Tuesday in a statement the country's solidarity with Syria in its "fight against terrorist threats."
During a phone conversation between Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh, Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's "firm position and absolute solidarity with the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, both as a state and people, in confronting the terrorist threats targeting its sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security, and stability," said the statement.
For his part, Sabbagh thanked Algeria for its solidarity with Syria and its call for the inclusion of Syria's case in the Arab League emergency ministerial meeting scheduled for Dec. 8, said the statement.
The phone conversation came amid a deteriorating security situation in Syria.
