HANOI, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) disbursement in Vietnam was estimated at 21.68 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, up 7.1 percent year on year, the General Statistics Office reported Friday.
During the period, the processing and manufacturing industry took the lead with 17.57 billion dollars of FDI, accounting for 81 percent, followed by real estate with 1.66 billion dollars (7.6 percent) and 887.4 million dollars from the electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air-conditioner production and distribution (4.1 percent).
A total of 79 countries and regions have been granted new investment licenses in Vietnam from January to November with Singaporean investors still dominating the investment flow.
Vietnam licensed 3,035 new FDI projects with a total registered capital of 17.39 billion dollars during the cited period, up 1.6 percent year on year in terms of the number of projects and up 0.7 percent in terms of registered capital, according to the office. Enditem
