LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Disney's animated musical film "Moana 2" topped the North American box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated three-day cume of 52 million U.S. dollars, data from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
The sequel to 2016's "Moana" has grossed 300 million dollars in North America for a whopping global total of 600 million dollars through Sunday.
Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprise their title voice roles in the family-friendly film which reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers.
Universal Pictures' musical fantasy film "Wicked" stayed in second place on its third weekend with 34.85 million dollars. The film now has a North American cume of 320.5 million dollars and a global total of 455.55 million dollars.
Rounding out the top three, Paramount Pictures' epic historical action film "Gladiator II" added another 12.45 million dollars on its third weekend for a North American cume of 132.7 million dollars. Enditem
