COLOMBO, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka has drafted a resolution to submit to the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP15) to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, according to the government's information department on Tuesday.
The COP15 to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands will be held in Zimbabwe in July 2025.
The resolution expects member countries to identify "nature's rights in wetlands" in their countries, the department said.
The Ramsar Convention is the intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
The convention was adopted in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971 and came into force in 1975. Enditem
