ISTANBUL, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye aims to foster the creation of 100,000 technology startups by 2030, with the goal of having 100 of these companies reach a valuation of over one billion U.S. dollars, Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the opening of the Take Off Startup Summit, an international tech event organized by his ministry, Kacir highlighted Türkiye's rapid progress in national technological mobilization. He noted that the country is home to over 11,000 technology startups, more than 1,600 research and development and design centers, nearly 300,000 skilled personnel, and an annual investment exceeding 16 billion dollars in the sector.
"Our goal is to make Türkiye a global hub for technology entrepreneurship," Kacir said.
Held annually since 2019, the two-day summit focuses on promoting innovation and supporting entrepreneurship.
This year, 250 technology startups from 23 countries participated in the summit, along with over 100 technology investors and venture capital fund managers from around the world. Enditem
