COLOMBO, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has directed the country's finance ministry to implement measures to enhance the efficiency and resilience of the financial system, the president's media division (PMD) said on Thursday.
The president gave these instructions during a discussion with ministry officials on Thursday, the PMD said.
Highlighting the central bank's crucial role as an independent institution, the president assured that the government would extend its full support and resources to stabilize the country's finances, according to the PMD.
He emphasized the importance of creating an effective mechanism to streamline banking and financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accessibility, the PMD added. Enditem
