Iran's IRGC forces last ones to leave Syria's "resistance line" -- commander

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- The forces of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps were the last to leave the "resistance line" in Syria, state news agency IRNA reported, citing the forces' commander.

Chief Commander of the IRGC Hossein Salami made the remarks on Thursday at a meeting with several of the forces' commanders while elaborating on the reasons for and consequences of the recent security and military developments in Syria.

"We should live with Syria's realities. We look at the realities and act based on the facts," said the commander, adding, "Strategies should change in accordance with circumstances."

A militant alliance led by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham waged a major offensive from northern Syria on Nov. 27, sweeping southwards through government-held areas and capturing the capital Damascus within 12 days. Enditem
