RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo manager Artur Jorge said Friday that he has not yet discussed his future with club owner John Textor amid speculation that he will return to Europe in 2025.

The 52-year-old said his immediate priority was to spend time with his family in his native Portugal after an exhausting 2024 in which Botafogo won the Brazilian Serie A title and the Copa Libertadores crown.

"We're not talking about anything in the past tense, we're talking about the present," Jorge told reporters in Rio de Janeiro after his team's elimination from the FIFA Intercontinental Cup by Mexico's Pachuca in Qatar on Wednesday.

"We're enjoying a bit of time with our fans who made a point of being here today. It's proof of the unity this club has and of the enormous satisfaction for what we've achieved," added Jorge, who joined Botafogo from Braga in April.

Jorge, who is contracted to the Rio outfit until next December, said Botafogo's supporters had played a crucial role in the club's success.

"The passion they have shown is fantastic. We couldn't have done what we did this season without having them by our side," he added. Enditem
