SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Canadian skaters delivered a commanding performance at the Short Track Speed Skating World Cup here on Saturday, capturing three golds across men's and women's events.
Steven Dubois dominated in the men's 500m, claiming gold with a time of 41.681 seconds, while his compatriot Jordan Pierre-Gilles finished just behind for silver in 41.759. Latvia's Roberts Kruzbergs rounded out the podium with bronze in 41.800.
In the men's 1,500m, William Dandjinou clinched another gold for Canada, finishing in 2:14.313. A penalty for Dubois after the race gave South Korea's Park Ji-won the silver medal, while the bronze went to Jens van't Wout of the Netherlands.
Canada's dominance also extended to the women's 3,000m relay, where they secured gold in 4:11.634, finishing ahead of Italy and South Korea.
South Korea's Kim Gil-li stole the spotlight in the women's 1,000m, winning in 1:30.884. Canada's Danae Blais earned silver in 1:31.010, and Kim's compatriot Choi Min-jeong claimed bronze in 1:31.053.
On Sunday, the tournament's final day, five gold medals will be awarded, including the mixed team relay, men's 5,000m relay, men's 1,000m, women's 500m and women's 1,500m. Enditem
