BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- A first-half goal from Maximiliano Salas gave Racing Club a 1-0 home victory over River Plate in their last match of the Argentine Primera Division season on Saturday.
Salas rose highest to meet Juan Fernando Quintero's delivery with a glancing header into the far corner.

The result leaves Racing third in the standings with 43 points, behind Velez Sarsfield and Talleres Cordoba, who will play their final games of the season on Sunday. River is fifth, four points further back.
In other fixtures on Saturday, Rosario Central won 2-1 at home to Belgrano, Godoy Cruz prevailed 3-1 at Instituto Cordoba and Boca Juniors were held to a goalless home draw by Independiente. Enditem
