RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil international midfielder Renato Augusto said Saturday that he is likely to retire when his contract with Fluminense expires next December.
The 36-year-old said that he hoped to win silverware with the Rio de Janeiro club next year after a disappointing 2024.
"I will stay at Fluminense in 2025, which will probably be the last year of my career," Renato said. "I will try to bow out of my playing career in the best way possible."
Renato arrived at Fluminense in January after two and half years with Corinthians, whom he joined from Beijing Guoan in 2021.
In 2024, the versatile midfielder scored a goal and provided an assist in 32 matches across all competitions for Fluminense. Enditem
