Urgent: 6.1-magnitude quake hits Tonga Islands -- GFZ

HONG KONG, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Tonga Islands at 1503 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 235.6 km, was initially determined to be at 18.52 degrees south latitude and 175.19 degrees west longitude. Enditem
