LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Disney's animated musical film "Moana 2" topped the North American box office for the third consecutive weekend with an estimated three-day cume of 26.6 million U.S. dollars, data from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.

The sequel to 2016's "Moana" has grossed 337.5 million dollars in North America and 717 million dollars worldwide through Sunday.

Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprise their title voice roles in the family-friendly film which reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers.

In second place, Universal Pictures' musical fantasy film "Wicked" earned 22.5 million dollars on its fourth weekend for a North American tally of 359 million dollars so far.

Rounding out the top three, Sony's superhero film "Kraven The Hunter" opened to a debut of 11 million dollars. Enditem
