JAKARTA, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded its 55th consecutive month of trade surplus in November, reaching 4.42 billion U.S. dollars, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported on Monday.

The figure is higher than the previous month's surplus of 2.47 billion dollars. Cumulatively, the Southeast Asian country's trade balance achieved a surplus of 28.86 billion dollars.

"This surplus was driven by higher export values compared to imports. Indonesia's exports reached 24.01 billion dollars in November 2024, while imports were recorded at 19.59 billion dollars," said Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, acting head of the BPS, during a press conference.

She added that the November surplus was primarily supported by non-oil and gas commodities, particularly mineral fuels, animal and vegetable fats and oils, as well as iron and steel. Enditem
