ABUJA, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's headline inflation rate increased to 34.6 percent in November, up by 0.72 percentage points from the 33.88 percent recorded in October, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported Monday.
The NBS said that on a year-on-year basis, the headline inflation rate in November this year was 6.4 percentage points higher than the 28.2 percent recorded in November 2023.
On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate in November 2024 was 2.638 percent, slightly lower by 0.002 percentage points compared to the 2.64 percent recorded in October 2024.
The NBS attributed the rise in inflation to increasing prices in key sectors, including food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas, clothing, transport, education, health, and other goods and services. Enditem
