JAKARTA, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has issued 471 golden visas from July to December 2024, according to the Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on Tuesday.
This program, launched by former President Joko Widodo on July 25, aims to attract global investors, former Indonesian citizens and their descendants, second-home residents, and international talents by offering extended stays and investment incentives.
The golden visa scheme offers five- and 10-year stay options based on specific investment criteria. Holders benefit from streamlined immigration services, priority access at international airports, and exemption from applying for a limited stay permit.
"Visa services contribute the largest share, accounting for 56 percent of the total non-tax state revenue received by the Directorate General of Immigration," said Director of Residence Permits and Immigration Status Jaya Saputra.
He said that a total of 5,162,775 visas were issued between Jan. 1 to Dec. 15, with 89 percent being visas on arrival. Additionally, 420,529 single-entry visit visas, 43,292 multiple-entry visit visas, and 62,630 limited-stay visas were granted during the same period. Enditem
