PHNOM PENH, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Thailand have vowed to further boost bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation in key areas for the benefit of both nations, said a Cambodian foreign ministry's news release on Tuesday.

The commitment was made during a telephone conversation on Monday between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, the news release said.

"The two foreign ministers highly appreciated the cordial relationship between the leaders of the two countries, which has reinforced political trust and cooperation in advancing Cambodia-Thailand strategic partnership," the news release said.

"They noted with satisfaction the growth in bilateral trade and tourism and commended the effective coordination between law enforcement agencies of the two countries in addressing the growing challenges of modern transnational crimes," it added.

They also looked forward to the 12th meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in Thailand next year to explore ways and means to deepen bilateral ties and to ensure that both nations enjoy greater shared prosperity and good neighborliness for years to come, the news release said.
