GAZA/JERUSALEM -- Hamas said on Tuesday that reaching an agreement for a ceasefire and prisoner exchanges is possible if Israel stops setting new conditions.

In a statement, Hamas referred to the discussions on a ceasefire in Qatar's Doha on Tuesday under the auspices of the Qatari and Egyptian mediators as "serious and positive." (Gaza Strip-Hamas-Israel)

GAZA -- At least 35 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, said Palestinian sources.

ADEN, Yemen -- Fighting flared between Yemeni government forces and Houthi fighters in the southern province of Lahj on Tuesday evening, a military official told Xinhua.

The clashes occurred in the Musaymir area after government forces repelled a Houthi infiltration attempt, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. He added that three Houthi fighters were killed and five others wounded. (Yemen-Houthis-Conflicts)

DAMASCUS -- The commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, said Tuesday that his forces are willing to propose a "demilitarized zone" in the border city of Kobani in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

He made the remarks on the social media platform X, expressing SDF's readiness to establish a buffer area in Kobani, with the redeployment of security forces under U.S. supervision and presence.
