2 Indians still missing after vessels collide in Arabian Sea

NEW DELHI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Two people, including a minor, were still missing off the Mumbai coast in the Arabian Sea a day after the deadly crash took place between an Indian Navy speedboat and a private ferry, a local official confirmed on Thursday.

The missing passengers were identified as 43-year-old Hansraj Bhati and 7-year-old Johan Mohammad Nisar Ahmed Pathan.

Four Indian Navy helicopters, 11 naval craft, one Indian Coast Guard boat and three Marine Police boats were undertaking rescue efforts, according to a statement by the Indian Navy.

Of the 113 people onboard both vessels, 13 people had died in the mishap. Fortunately, 98, including two injured people, were rescued. There were six people onboard the Indian Navy craft, of which two survived.

The ferry boat was en route to Elephanta Caves, a popular tourist destination. Enditem
