KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's inflation rose 1.8 percent in November year on year with the index points standing at 133.3, official data showed Friday.
The increase of inflation in November was driven by a slower growth in the main groups of health (1.2 percent) and transport (0.4 percent), the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.
Meanwhile, inflation for food and beverages, which contributes 29.8 percent of the total consumer price index (CPI) weight, increased at a higher rate of 2.6 percent.
The overall monthly inflation for November decreased 0.1 percent as against October. This is the first decline since August 2021.
