JAKARTA -- Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indonesia's new capital city Nusantara (IKN) has been recorded at a total of 1.5 trillion rupiahs (about 92.4 million U.S. dollars), an official said on Friday.

Foreign companies invested in the constructions of the infrastructure are from Russia, Japan, Singapore, Australia, China and Malaysia, according to Agung Wicaksono, deputy for financing and investment of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN). (Indonesia-Investment)

TOKYO -- Japan's core consumer prices rose 2.7 percent from a year earlier in November, with the pace of increase expanding for the first time in three months, government data showed Friday.

The rise in the nationwide core consumer price index, which excludes fresh food, accelerated from a 2.3 percent rise in October and a 2.4 percent gain in September, growing for the 39th consecutive month, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said. (Japan-CPI-Inflation)

SUVA -- Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Li Minggang said in an interview with Xinhua on Friday that the Red Cross Society of China has provided Vanuatu with 100,000 U.S. dollars in emergency humanitarian cash assistance in the wake of a recent powerful earthquake there.

"Today we have received 100,000 U.S. dollars of emergency humanitarian cash assistance from the Red Cross Society of China, which will be handed over to Vanuatu on Saturday," he said, adding that China will continue to provide assistance within its capacity based on the situation and the needs of Vanuatu. SEOUL -- South Korea's ruling party has decided to take part in a consultative body for stabilizing the operation of state affairs, its floor leader said on Friday.

Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party (PPP), told reporters that his party has decided to participate in the body between the rival parties and the government to discuss issues on security and improving people's livelihoods, adding a discussion with the National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik is underway on the body's make-up, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday. KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian government has agreed in principle to resume the search for Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said on Friday.

Loke told a press briefing that the cabinet has agreed in principle to accept the proposal from exploration firm Ocean Infinity to proceed with seabed search operations to locate MH370 in a new area estimated at 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean. (Malaysia-MH370-Search) Enditem
