Brunei police seize contraband in suspicious vehicle

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Brunei police personnel seized a haul of contraband comprising 75 cartons of cigarettes and 10 cartons of alcohol in a suspicious vehicle, local media reported on Saturday.

According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, the contraband was seized during a crime prevention operation by the local police station on Thursday. Police officers found a suspicious vehicle while patrolling the bush area of a boat landing site in Temburong District in the eastern part of Brunei.

The officers checked the vehicle and discovered boxes containing contraband inside, according to the report.
