ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan on Saturday slammed a senior U.S. official's statement on the country's missile capabilities and delivery means, calling it "unfortunate."

"The allegations are unfounded, devoid of rationality and sense of history. The recent spate of U.S. allegations towards a major non-NATO ally would be unhelpful for the overall relationship, especially in the absence of any evidence in this regard," said Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry. SEOUL -- A fire broke out at a building of South Korea's National Assembly in Seoul at noontime on Saturday, with hundreds evacuated from the scene, Yonhap news agency reported, citing local authorities.

The fire broke out at 11:52 a.m. local time at the reception hall of the parliament compound which houses a press room and a wedding hall, as around 480 people, including reporters and wedding guests, were evacuated. Six of them received medical treatment for smoke inhalation, according to the report. (South Korea-Fire)

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka's Secretary to the Treasury Mahinda Siriwardana said on Saturday that the country officially exited sovereign default.

Siriwardana said in a post on X that there is no room for repeating past policy mistakes driven by rigid ideologies, dogmatic beliefs, or misleading narratives, which often result in unsustainable and unrealistic policies. (Sri Lanka-Sovereign Default)
