HANOI, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government has asked for concerted efforts to achieve a GDP growth rate of more than 8 percent in 2025, higher than the National Assembly's target of 6.5 percent, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently said the focus would be on strengthening economic growth in line with stabilizing the macroeconomy, controlling inflation and ensuring major balances.
The capital Hanoi and southern hub of Ho Chi Minh City must strive to achieve a growth rate of around 8-10 percent, he said.
A proposal to develop circular economy will be submitted to the government in the first quarter of next year. Vietnam will also issue green taxonomy to promote green transition, he said.
The World Bank recently projected that Vietnam's GDP growth would reach 6.5 percent in 2025 while the Asian Development Bank predicted a 6.6 percent growth. Enditem
