WARSAW, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski said he felt disappointed with the 2-1 defeat against Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Saturday.

Pedri put the "Catalans" in front in the 30th minute, but after the break the team coached by Diego Simeone scored twice to take a victory. The visitor extended its winning streak to 12 games thanks to Alexander Sorloth, who found the net in stoppage time.

"We played a good game, but we didn't get the points, so we are very angry. After our mistakes, Atletico created chances and scored goals. In the final minutes we should have remained calm," Lewandowski told Polish media on Monday.

After the break the Pole could have put Barcelona ahead, but he missed the target from close range.

"We created a lot of chances. In the last two or three matches I lacked self-confidence in the penalty area. If you don't turn your shots into goals, it's even more difficult to stay calm and beat the goalkeeper," Lewandowski admitted.

"The calendar is very intense, while we have a young team. We play matches every three days and the most important thing is mental preparation. In some matches, we weren't focused enough. We have to be ready for every next game," the 36-year-old concluded. Enditem
